How the interior surfaces work as one system: the panel build-up, the windows, every edge termination, the ceiling, and the light. The finish drives all of it: microcement is brittle, so nothing screws through a face and no release may bend a panel.

Microcement over plywood needs fully continuous backing. Unsupported panels flex on washboard and crack the coating, so furring strips run between the 8020 verticals for full support.

The finish goes on before a panel is hung, which is what makes a removable panel coherent at all, and it is what makes the ceiling scheme work: every piece is finished flat on the bench and carried in.

The general wall spec is 1/8" birch and the kitchen window panel is 1/4". Whether the thicker stock now applies to the other walls has not been decided.

The observed leak path was water pooling on the outside bottom sill and wicking inward, so standard weep-hole theory did not apply. The fillet sheds it instead.

The factory plastic frames are off, replaced with a wooden rail that also holds the blind and bug screen. The rail's 1.5" is set by the blind cassette. The wall is built over the top of it, and the panel lands on the rail's 2" face.

3The system: edges and trim

Panels are held by geometry, never by face fasteners: bearing below, a fixed trim piece lapping above, magnets only to keep them flat. Every edge terminates one of two ways, and the rule is trim where things get touched, shadow gap where they do not. Trim is black and minimalist everywhere: it joins the black the truck already has. The slatted blond panels stay a cabinet-front language and trim does not imitate them.

The edge catalogue: every way a panel edge ends in this build, drawn once, in section. Room side is left in vertical cuts, bottom in plan cuts. A junction on the truck points at one of these instead of being a fresh decision.

Shadow gaps are built, not left. A gap reads as shadow only when it is roughly twice as deep as it is wide, so every gap gets a black liner behind the joint. They stay unlit: a lit gap is the spaceship move. Ceiling lines answer to ceiling features, wall lines to wall features.

4The ceiling

Drawn from the model: only elements with a measured or decided position appear. The over-bed zone is one seamless spliced panel, decided 2026-08-10: a 5x5 and a ~20 x 60 piece butt-joined with a glued 1/8" backer strap on the hidden side, cured flat, fiberglass mesh over the seam in the microcement base coat, finished flat on the bench and carried in whole. No shadow gaps over the bed, and the fixing moves to the perimeter, TP15, since the reveals that hid the screws are gone: the panel is bonded up with Sikaflex beaded on every furring member, with perimeter screws under the TP15 trim doing the clamping through the cure and staying after. Nothing serviceable gets sealed above it: junctions move out of the zone first, and the roof-leak case makes the panel sacrificial, an accepted trade. The strap must land between furring members or the furring gets relieved. Everything else waits in the schedule until taped.

5Trim points, one at a time

Every individual termination in the truck, numbered. Each one gets worked on its own, drawn where it needs drawing, and its row updated when it settles. The E reference points at the catalogue detail it follows.

6Build log

2026-08-11

THE LOUNGE STARTS. First lounge wall panel blank up in place, standing between the lounge window and the Happijac pillar, butting the black steel exactly as TP20 specifies. The window cutout is still to cut, same discipline as the kitchen: template first, dimensions to the notebook, cutout finished against the template with radiused corners, show face managed for tearout. The lounge build gets its own page once it has its own drawings; until then it logs here.

2026-08-10

THE OVER-BED CEILING WENT SEAMLESS, Jeff's call, reversing the 12/60/12 of three days ago and improving on it: a 5x5 and a ~20 x 60 piece spliced into one panel with a glued 1/8 backer strap on the hidden side, Titebond III, weighted flat overnight, then microcemented as one field and carried in whole. Two rules make it survive: the strap lands BETWEEN furring members or the furring gets relieved, and the seam gets fiberglass mesh in the base coat so it never hairlines through the finish. With the reveals gone the fixing moves to the perimeter under TP15's trim. Layout photographed on the grass before glue.

2026-08-10

RESTOCK RUN, Mr Plywood, $113: two more 5x5 sheets of 1/8 Baltic birch and 20 ft more of 1x5 poplar. The sheets are ceiling and wall stock, 50 sq ft, which with the first sheet covers the over-bed 12/60/12 with a sheet in hand for the living field once its break lines are decided. The poplar is rail stock for the LOUNGE windows, two 10-footers. NOT enough for both lounge frames: the kitchen frame alone ate 23 ft 2 in of 2 in strip, so two more need about 46 ft and 20 ft of board yields 40 ft of strip. Measure the lounge openings and expect another Mr Plywood run.

2026-08-07

THE WALL, TRIM AND LIGHTING PLAN came together, from a zone walkthrough and sixteen interior photos, and it is section 11 above. The decisions that shaped it: trim is black and minimalist everywhere, joining the black the truck already has, and the slatted panels stay a cabinet language. The back wall's two shadow gaps set a module that the over-bed ceiling carries overhead, aligned dead-on, with the living-area ceiling break hidden at the Happijac trim line. Light lights surfaces, never lines: pucks where visible, strips only concealed, color capability in exactly two low zones. The ceiling puck rough-in that already exists on the furring becomes the WORK scene.

2026-08-06

First sheet of panel stock: one 5 ft x 5 ft sheet of 1/8" Baltic birch, $28, 25 sq ft. More to follow. At 25 sq ft a sheet against roughly 285 sq ft of finished wall area, the run is somewhere near a dozen sheets before waste, and cutting around window openings makes the waste real. Worth noting the thickness: this is 1/8", which matches the general wall spec rather than the 1/4" of the kitchen window panel, so the two are still different and the question of which the rest of the walls follow is still open.
